Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with current NICU/PICU experience for a night shift travel assignment in a Level 3 NICU at a Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center in Miami, FL.
Details
- NICU/PICU Respiratory Therapy unit at a 447-bed tertiary care and teaching facility, Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center, Level 3 NICU, and Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in Miami, FL
- Works with neonatal and pediatric patient populations
- Equipment used includes high-flow devices, 3100A oscillator, Bunnell ventilator, Servo ventilators, continuous nebulizers, Nitric Oxide, Heliox, and standard nebulizers
- Documentation system: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- May float to adult floors for nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, CPT, and similar treatments
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RRT license and certification required — license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital experience as an RRT
- Current NICU/PICU experience required
- Must have active experience within the specialty within the last 6 months
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP (American Academy of Pediatrics, NRP Advanced 9th Edition), and PALS
- ACLS required per facility policy for Respiratory Therapists
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- Two professional references required (Florida state requirement)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — no local candidates accepted
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory treatment, care, and evaluation for neonatal and pediatric patients with respiratory diseases using advanced technologies and medication delivery
- Department is led by a Director and Manager, with one Supervisor/Charge Therapist per shift alongside regular staff
- Multidisciplinary, collaborative team approach to patient care
- Meditech experience preferred by the hiring director
- Required scrub color: light gray (silver)
- AHA or ARC certifications accepted
