Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 3 Trauma facility in Carlsbad, NM, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and a NM or compact RN license.
Details
- Emergency Department at a Level 3 Trauma facility
- Day shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- EMR: MedHost (EDIS)
- Floating is required
- 6-week scheduling blocks; blocked scheduling is not approved
- Call-out must be reported at least 2 hours prior to shift start
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Preferred certifications: ENPC and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
- No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- Valid driver's license required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Fingerprinting required for all travelers working in New Mexico
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Emergency Department patients using the nursing process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy
- Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in the planning and delivery of safe patient care
- Delegate patient care responsibilities to staff commensurate with their education and experience
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education
- RTO is limited to 1 request per schedule; requests must be less than 1 week in duration
- Holiday coverage expectations include 1 summer and 1 winter holiday, dependent on department needs
- Scrub color: no specific color required — full uniform expected
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
