Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at a short-term acute care hospital in Hobbs, NM, with Epic proficiency and prior OR travel experience required.

Details

• Operating Room (OR) unit in a 61-bed short-term acute care hospital
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Specialties include orthopedic, general, gynecological, and podiatric surgical cases
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• No weekend requirement
• On-call required: approximately 1–2 weekdays per week and 1–2 weekends per month, distributed equally among circulators
• No floating within the unit; however, travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state
• EMR: Epic (required)
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience in the OR required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Experience with orthopedic, general, gynecological, and podiatric surgical procedures required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment total within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required

Additional Information

• Circulator responsibilities in a multi-specialty OR environment
• Navy scrubs required for all RN staff
• Refusal to float between facilities within the state may result in assignment termination
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem), including location and dates
• Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
• This position has a reduced non-billable orientation (0 hours vs. standard 40 hours), so candidates should be prepared to transition quickly into independent practice
