Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Medical ICU position requiring prior travel experience, large teaching facility background, and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work setting is a Medical ICU (M4 MICU) with overflow neuro patients at a large academic teaching hospital
- Patient population includes medical ICU and neuro overflow cases involving multi-system disease, COVID, and complex critical care
- Procedures and skills include IV starts, multiple titrating drips, critical vent management, CRRT, IABP, and ECMO
- Epic EMR is used; recent experience required
- 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights), 36 hours per week
- Schedule runs Monday through Sunday with no block scheduling
- Must be open to working potentially every weekend
- Required to float to SICU, Miller 3, and Miller 4
Requirements
- Active VT or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — NIHSS must be obtained prior to start; CCRN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ICU unit experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Large academic teaching facility experience required
- Experience with multi-system disease, CRRT, IABP, ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and multiple drips required
- Epic experience within the past 2 years required
- Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- All employment gaps exceeding 90 days must be explained
Additional Information
- Candidates with a NY license showing proof of pending status will be considered
- Public transportation is not accessible in this area; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
- Candidates located within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a local pay rate; those between 51–100 miles are eligible for a radius rate — distance is measured in a straight line, not by driving distance
- Local candidates are accepted
