Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Unit night shift position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active HI RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based Medical Unit with 77 beds
- Adult med-surg patient population
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 on days and evenings, and 1:8 on nights
- Equipment used includes Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
- Night shift position with variable shift lengths and days — flexibility is required
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation
- May float to the Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Additional Information
- Meditech EMR experience is utilized in this unit
- Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent practice
- Professional nursing attire required
- Proof of flu vaccination, or a facility-approved medical or religious exception, is required prior to the contract start date — flu vaccination may be administered at the employee health clearance appointment
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
