Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a night shift contract role requiring ARRT registration and BLS certification from AHA.
Details
- Hospital-based CT imaging department
- 3x12 hour night shifts, Tuesday through Thursday, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week
- 8-week contract
- Charting in Cerner
- May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
Requirements
- ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required; ARRT registration in CT preferred
- Active SC or compact state license required (license required if applicable)
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
- High school diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Allied Health or CT program preferred
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
- Must be able to frequently lift, move, push, or pull patients and equipment up to 50 lbs
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- 2 references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform CT scans of designated anatomical areas under the medical supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols
- Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists as assigned
- Ensure correct patient orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the computer system
- Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures, assist with informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions to family members
- Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and adhere to DHEC and TJC guidelines
- Travelers who have been on assignment for one full calendar year must take a 30–60 day break before returning to a new assignment at this facility
- Work environment includes frequent exposure to radiation, possible exposure to infectious materials, blood-borne pathogens, and caustic chemicals
