Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a mid-shift Emergency Department position in Michigan City, IN, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ED experience and active ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.
Details
- Work in a 32-bed Emergency Department in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes medical, injured, and mental health patients across the lifespan
- Standard patient ratio of 1:4, with higher ratios for lower acuity patients
- Level I fluid warmer equipment used on unit
- EMR: Epic
- Mid-shift schedule: 3:00 PM – 3:30 AM (3x12s)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call or float requirements
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required
- Active US SSN required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS; TNCC preferred
- Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
- Experience with patients across the lifespan required
- Trauma care experience preferred
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- EKG testing is required as part of the hiring process; candidates are allowed 2 attempts — if unsuccessful, candidates may reapply to Franciscan Health positions after 30 days
- Pre-employment education modules are assigned and must be completed prior to the first day
- Navy scrubs required; facility dress code must be followed
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply
- Report to the hospital through the South Entrance on the first day
