Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Cerner proficiency, working nights on a 4x12 schedule.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit (2E overflow) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned based on operational needs, with training and resources provided

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required; license must be in hand at time of start
• RN degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or RQI accepted) and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Indiana residents are not eligible for this position

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must be willing to take on charge nurse duties as needed
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• The following holiday periods cannot be requested as time off: Memorial Day weekend, Father's Day weekend, 4th of July weekend, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved
• Current or former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month gap before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of IU Health travel employment must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: 90 days for out-of-state residents and 180 days for in-state residents
