Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Titusville, FL, requiring a minimum of 2.5 years of ED experience and prior travel assignments.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 210 staffed beds
• Emergency Department unit — combined adult/pediatric general ED
• Stroke-certified and STEMI-certified facility
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required
• Charting via Meditech (experience preferred)
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2.5 years of ED experience required
• Minimum 1 year of neuro/stroke experience required
• Minimum 2 prior travel assignments required
• Experience with Level 1 resuscitation patients required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Candidate must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Key clinical skills include management of psychiatric patients (acute psychosis, suicidal ideation, violent behavior), IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, chest tube management, intubation, ABG interpretation, and post-resuscitation care
• Neurological and CVA/stroke care experience is central to daily responsibilities
• Pediatric ED experience and SANE certification are preferred but not required
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; no t-shirts, sweatshirts, or apparel with logos from other organizations
• Free parking is available in any unrestricted space
• Holiday coverage is required: if 1–2 holidays fall within the assignment, travelers must work 1 holiday eve and 1 holiday; if 3 holidays fall within the assignment, travelers must work 1 holiday eve and 2 holidays
• RTO is limited to no more than 10 days and requires extending the assignment by 2 weeks; no RTO during the first or last week of the assignment
• ED-specific onboarding modules are required prior to start and may take up to 10–12 hours to complete
• Travel pairs or trios are not accepted for this position
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
