Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a 431-bed Level II Trauma Center, with experience in adult critical care, ER, and community hospital settings required.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 431 staffed beds at a Level II Trauma Center
- Adult respiratory therapy unit with float requirements to the ER and Adult ICU Stepdown units
- Experience with airway management, medication administration, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers
- Aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies, as well as arterial blood gas draw and analysis, and CPAP/BiPAP implementation and management
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend required, plus every other holiday
- On-call required: 3 shifts per 6-week scheduling period
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting via Epic
- Wine-colored scrubs required
Requirements
- Current RRT credential (preferred; CRTT required at minimum)
- Active BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required; candidates may begin the assignment with ACLS pending, provided it is obtained within 90 days of start date
- Virginia (VA) state license required — a compact or national license alone is not accepted; proof of VA license application may be submitted along with another state license if the VA license is pending
- License required if applicable
- Minimum experience required in adult critical care, ER, and community hospital settings
- NICU, ED, and adult ICU experience preferred, though experience in all areas is not required
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Ability to work night shifts and provide a range of respiratory therapy modalities

- Time-off requests are accommodated at the manager's discretion
- Candidate is expected to attend monthly department meetings when scheduled; if not working, candidate must review meeting minutes and send written acknowledgment to management
