Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a 431-bed Level II Trauma Center, with experience in adult critical care, ER, and community hospital settings required.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting with 431 staffed beds at a Level II Trauma Center
• Adult respiratory therapy unit with float requirements to the ER and Adult ICU Stepdown units
• Experience with airway management, medication administration, ABGs, O2 therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers
• Aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies, as well as arterial blood gas draw and analysis, and CPAP/BiPAP implementation and management
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required, plus every other holiday
• On-call required: 3 shifts per 6-week scheduling period
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting via Epic
• Wine-colored scrubs required

Requirements

• Current RRT credential (preferred; CRTT required at minimum)
• Active BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required; candidates may begin the assignment with ACLS pending, provided it is obtained within 90 days of start date
• Virginia (VA) state license required — a compact or national license alone is not accepted; proof of VA license application may be submitted along with another state license if the VA license is pending
• License required if applicable
• Minimum experience required in adult critical care, ER, and community hospital settings
• NICU, ED, and adult ICU experience preferred, though experience in all areas is not required
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and provide a range of respiratory therapy modalities
