Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring 3+ years of perioperative/endoscopy experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Work in the Endoscopy unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
- Patient care involves moderate sedation administration and recovery, as well as pre-op admission
- Peripheral IV insertion required as part of routine care
- Charting performed in Cerner
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, Monday through Friday with one weekday off — no block scheduling
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Floating is mandatory at the facility's discretion, including to other Cook County facilities within a 50-mile radius — travelers may receive float notification as little as 2 hours before their shift
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of perioperative and/or endoscopy RN experience required
- Experience administering and recovering patients from moderate sedation required
- Experience in both pre-op admission and recovery required
- Proficiency with peripheral IV insertion required
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Proof of COVID vaccination required — no exceptions
Additional Information
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation, manage pre-op admissions, and recover patients post-procedure
- Willingness to float to a variety of units — including outside primary area of competency — is essential; a team-based care model is used when floating outside primary competency
- RTO is capped at 5 days per contract with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends, holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable and are not provided by the facility
- Local candidates are accepted and preferred — candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility
