Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU (NICU) position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least 1 year of NICU experience and active RN licensure.
Details
- Work setting is a hospital-based Neonatal ICU (NICU)
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
- 14-week contract assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license (OK state or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications required (from AHA only): BLS and NRP — Advanced NRP also required
- Minimum of 1 year of NICU nursing experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and families
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of neonatal patients, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and communicating care plans with families
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may apply, but are limited to one contract extension for a maximum of 26 total weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for a subsequent contract
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — the facility does not negotiate start dates and will not accommodate delays in compliance clearance
