Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring at least 1.5 years of Med/Surg or PCU experience, strong post-surgical competencies, and a MI RN license.
Details
- Hospital Med/Surg unit setting
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Patient ratio of 1:6, with the potential to flex higher; support staff available during high-census situations
- May float to other Med/Surg units, ICU, and ED waiting areas to accommodate Med/Surg patient needs
- Required skills include: remote telemetry monitoring, colostomy care, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, port access, blood product administration, peripheral line care, PICC line management, IV insertion, heparin and insulin administration, PCA management, surgical drain management, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), HFNC, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg or PCU experience required
- Strong post-surgical competencies required

- Holiday coverage is required; time-off requests during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing needs
