Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Inpatient Overflow unit in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and a valid IL RN license.

Details

• Inpatient overflow Med/Surg unit in a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting
• Day shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No floating requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Candidates must undergo a leader interview as part of the selection process

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include conducting bedside shift reports, patient assessments, care plan development and modification, medication administration, and patient education
• Delegates and validates care tasks to assigned healthcare technicians throughout the shift
• Focuses on patient safety priorities including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation compliance, and safe ambulation
• Manages time-sensitive admission and discharge processes, particularly for Observation status patients
• RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers who have been on assignment at any Carle Health location for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any Carle Health facility
