Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 12-week night shift contract at an acute care, Level III Trauma facility requiring 2+ years of CT experience and ARRT (CT) certification.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting, Level III Trauma Center, Radiology – CT department
• Department has 3 GE scanners: one 16-slice and two 64-slice units
• EMR: MEDITECH; PACS: Fuji
• Average of 16–24 CT scans per day, including studies with and without contrast
• Patient population includes ER and inpatient cases
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, on a 7-on/7-off schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis with permanent staff
• On-call is backup only (someone is always in-house); call rotation occurs every 6th week with a 30-minute response time
• Call schedule varies by rotation day: Mon–Wed off-week = 5:00 PM–6:00 AM; Thurs–Sun off-week = Thu 5 PM–6 AM, Fri 5 PM–7 AM, Sat 7 AM–7 AM, Sun 7 AM–6 AM
• May float between two campuses approximately 16 minutes apart as first priority

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
• ER and inpatient CT experience required
• Active BLS certification required
• ARRT (CT) certification required
• Texas MRT license required (license required if applicable)
• Proficiency with IV placement required
• Experience with GE CT scanners preferred
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform CT scans with and without contrast for ER and inpatient populations
• Radiologist is on-site during the day; at night, radiology coverage is provided virtually with an ER physician available for emergencies
• May be asked to precept staff as needed
• Call-outs are strongly discouraged
• Department-specific orientation provided (12 hours)
• Black scrubs required; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates previously employed PRN through an outside staffing firm will be considered
