Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in California, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and the ability to circulate and perform sterile vaginal exams.

Details

  • Day shift position working 3x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30)
  • Located in an acute care Magnet-designated hospital with 426 staffed beds
  • Labor & Delivery unit
  • Charting is performed in Epic (experience required)
  • Weekends may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs
  • Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state — refusal to float may result in termination of assignment

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required; pending licensure is not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate; AWHONN Advanced preferred
  • Must be able to circulate in the OR
  • Must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience in a large hospital setting highly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
  • Travel pairs will not be considered
  • Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be accommodated
  • Scrubs are provided for L&D nurses
  • Parking is free at this facility
  • Former permanent staff of the facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
  • Minimal to no RTO is preferred; significant RTO requests may impact candidacy
  • All RTO must be disclosed at the time of submission
