Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for a high-risk OB/GYN outpatient clinic role requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, ARDMS-OB/GYN certification, and strong proficiency in advanced fetal and obstetric imaging.

Details

  • Outpatient high-risk OB/GYN residency clinic setting
  • Works independently out of a single exam room as a solo sonographer
  • Daily caseload of 8–10 ultrasound scans per day
  • Patient diagnoses include dating scans, BPP, growth, AFI, GYN, pelvic mass, abnormal endometrium, biometry, crown rump length, and pelvic studies
  • Adult, high-risk OB/GYN, and obstetrics patient population
  • Fetal imaging includes abdomen, abdominal circumference, bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, diaphragm, duodenal atresia/intussusception, fingers/toes, gender, head, and heart
  • OB/GYN imaging includes 1st–3rd trimester, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, multiple pregnancy, and placenta previa
  • GE ultrasound equipment used
  • EMR: Epic (required) and Viewpoint
  • 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • No call, float, or weekend requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant ultrasound experience required
  • Required skills: adult, high-risk OB/GYN, and obstetrics imaging
  • Required fetal skills: abdomen, abdominal circumference, bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, diaphragm, duodenal atresia/intussusception, fingers/toes, gender, head, and heart
  • Required OB/GYN skills: 1st–3rd trimester, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, multiple pregnancy, and placenta previa
  • Management or lead sonographer experience required
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • Active BLS, ARDMS, and ARDMS-OB/GYN certifications required; license required if applicable
  • Must be confident and self-sufficient working as a solo sonographer
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Additional Information

  • Preferred certifications include ARDMS-AB, ARDMS-FE, and NT-Nuchal Translucency
  • Preferred skills include portable ultrasound experience, general ultrasound procedures, amniocentesis, UA Doppler, and Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Preferred OB/GYN skills include fetal echo, inter/intra-orbital measurements, nuchal translucency screening, and umbilical cord Doppler
  • Orientation is approximately 40 hours, dependent on experience, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment
  • Completion of pre-start online learning modules is required; hours vary by specialty for non-acute roles (approximately 4–5 hours)
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved provided it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval
  • Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Previous permanent, PRN, or EP employees of this health system must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
  • Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at a local rate
  • Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 12 months are highly preferred; references may be pending at time of consideration but are required prior to start
  • Royal blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
  • Travel pairs are allowed but must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
