Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Springfield, VT, requiring charge experience and the ability to provide PCU-level care in an adaptive acuity unit.

Details

• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 on the Med/Surg Tele unit
• Unit operates as an adaptive acuity unit; travelers will occasionally be required to provide PCU-level care at a 1:3 ratio
• 25-bed unit within a small critical access hospital
• Charge nurse responsibilities are required for this role
• Every other weekend required; holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating to any inpatient unit within scope of practice is required

Requirements

• Active Vermont RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• PCU/Progressive Care Unit experience strongly required
• IV drip experience required, including insulin drips, esmolol drips, and sodium drips
• Minimum 3 months of prior travel nursing experience required (non-negotiable; more is preferred)
• ICU experience strongly preferred
• Small critical access facility experience preferred
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
• 1 supervisory signed reference from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Current (within 1 year) skills checklists for PCU, Med/Surg, and Telemetry required for consideration

Additional Information

• PCU-level care assignments are non-negotiable and may not be refused when requested by the unit
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; no more than 5 days of RTO will be approved, and requests made after submission will not be considered
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
