Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel position at a Level III Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of MICU experience and an active MA RN license.
Details
- 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) at a 400+ bed community hospital designated as a Level III Trauma Center
- Adult patient population including diagnoses such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
- Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day
- RN-to-patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 in the ICU; ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Med/Surg units
- Night shift: 19:00–07:30, no shift rotation required for nights
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units (up to 4–5 patients when floated)
- EMR: Epic
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
- BLS and ACLS certifications required — AHA only (Red Cross not accepted at this facility)
- Minimum 2 years of continuous adult MICU experience required, preferably in a single location
- Telemetry strip reading competency required
- Epic charting experience
Additional Information
- Flu vaccine is required; no religious or medical exemptions are accepted
- Free on-site parking available
- Timekeeping system: UKG/Kronos
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
