Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position at a short-term acute care hospital in Missouri, requiring 2 years of experience and a valid MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting
- Float pool position covering medical, surgical, oncology, neuro, cardiology, renal, and telemetry units
- Patient ratios of 1:5–6 on days/weekends and 1:6 on nights
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Every other weekend required, or a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday and Sunday)
- Holiday rotation required
- No on-call requirements
- Float pool nurses call into a recorded line up to 1 hour before shift start to receive their unit assignment; pre-assignment to a specific unit for part of the contract is possible and will be communicated in advance
- Charting system: Epic (experience required for certain units)
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration; pending IL license may be accepted with notation
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, IV insertion proficiency, and telemetry experience
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Epic EMR experience required for certain units
- Ability to use lift devices (ceiling lifts) and bladder scanner (training provided)
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub color: Navy blue
- Free parking available on-site
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travel RNs may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
