Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Operating Room position in Rochester, NY, requiring a NY RN license and a minimum of 3 years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting
• Diverse surgical caseload including Ortho/Total Joint, Trauma, Neuro, GYN/Urology, Vascular, and Thoracic procedures
• Proficiency expected across a wide range of procedures including bariatric, vascular, thoracic, ENT, general surgery, gynecologic, spinal, orthopedic, plastic/reconstructive, podiatric, urologic, and robotic-assisted (Da Vinci Xi) cases
• Evening shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM, with flexibility to other shifts with advance notice as department needs require
• On-call responsibilities are required
• Epic EMR experience is preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
• Experience in Ortho/Total Joint, Trauma, Neuro, GYN/Urology, Vascular, and Thoracic surgery required
• Phlebotomy and IV placement skills are mandatory competencies for this role
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Teal scrubs are required
• RTO requests should be minimal; all scheduling requests must be disclosed upfront
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
