Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring an active TX or compact RN license and ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a 32-bed Medical ICU and 16-bed Surgical Trauma ICU setting
• Both units staffed with a Charge Nurse and Unit Clerk
• Patient ratios are 1:2 for ICU, 1:3 for IMC, and 1:1 for IABP, CRRT, and Impella patients
• Day shift schedule from 06:45-19:15
• 13-week assignment length
• Uses Cerner PowerChart EMR for inpatient documentation
• Potential to float to acute care unit or ED based on need

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA accepted)
• ACLS certification required (AHA accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Knowledge of CRRT, CABG, Trauma (TCAR/TNCC), and Impella preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implement and monitor patient care plans while recording and communicating patient condition
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders and assess discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Radius rule applies allowing local candidates consideration at a reduced rate, with specific mileage varying by state
