Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week day shift travel assignment in a large dual-unit intensive care setting in Round Rock, TX, requiring a TX or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Work setting is a hospital-based ICU comprising a 32-bed Medical ICU and a 16-bed Surgical Trauma ICU
- Staffing ratios are 1:2 for ICU and 1:3 for IMC, with 1:1 ratios for IABP, CRRT, Impella, and similar high-acuity cases
- Each unit is staffed with a Charge Nurse and Unit Clerk
- Day shift schedule: 06:45–19:15
- 13-week contract
- Charting is performed using Cerner Powerchart
- Floating to an acute care unit or the ED may be required based on staffing needs
- Navy blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or Compact RN license (TX-eligible) required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required — both must be AHA-issued
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (Group A updated yearly; Groups B–F updated every 2 years)
- Nursing diploma from an accredited school/college or equivalent professional licensure at time of hire
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Must provide a US Social Security Number and a US home address
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring patient care plans, communicating patient condition changes, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and carrying out physician and nursing orders
- Discharge planning coordination with the healthcare team is an expected part of the role
- Experience with CRRT, CABG, Trauma (TCAR/TNCC), and Impella is preferred
- Standard Precautions and appropriate PPE use are required at all times
- COVID vaccination is not required
