Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring Epic proficiency and every-other-weekend availability.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit (Medical North 4) in a hospital setting
• 26-bed unit serving a general medical patient population with common diagnoses across medical specialties
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), three shifts per week (36 hours)
• Patient ratios: 1:3–4 on days, 1:7–8 on nights
• CPAP (HS only) and ventilator management; nurses perform all respiratory treatments
• IV team available 7:00 AM–8:30 PM; nurse resource available overnight for IV support
• Hospitalist on-site 24/7; pharmacy and RT available 24/7
• Charting in Epic (experience required)
• Every-other-weekend requirement — candidates must be available to work full weekends including Sundays
• Holiday coverage required on an every-other basis
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, and NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Must be available to work every-other weekend, including Sundays
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• Provides general medical nursing care including respiratory treatments
• Charge nurse shared with North 6; nurse aides available at a 1:8 ratio
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Scrub color: Caribbean blue; black or white shirts may be worn underneath; top layer must be uniform color; pants may be Caribbean blue or black
• Blocked schedules cannot be accommodated
• No RTO (requested time off) within the first two weeks of the start date; minimal RTO expected throughout the assignment
