Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center with strong Neuro/Ortho procedural experience and robotic surgery skills in a large, high-volume operating room setting.
Details
- Evening shift, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM, with 8-hour shifts and possible 10-hour days
- No call and no weekend requirements
- Acute care hospital setting with Level 1 Trauma designation
- Large OR department with 25 suites averaging 75–100 cases per day
- Surgical specialties include Neuro (craniectomies, spine), Ortho, General, GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic procedures
- Experience with robotic surgery (DaVinci) and navigation systems (Stealth) utilized in Neuro cases
- Equipment includes cautery, lasers, laparoscopic and arthroscopy equipment, and Accudose
- Charting performed in Epic EMR
- 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Floating to sister campuses possible but rare
Requirements
- Active ND or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience required
- Experience in a large hospital (250+ beds) with Level 1 Trauma status required
- Experience working in a facility with 15 or more OR suites required; outpatient center experience is not sufficient
- Strong Neuro OR experience (craniectomies, spine) and Ortho experience required
- Experience with General, GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic cases required
- Experience with robotic surgery (DaVinci preferred) and surgical navigation systems
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one peer or supervisor from the same specialty within the last 3 years
- Certifications must be active at time of consideration; no pending certifications accepted
- Resume must reflect no employment gaps greater than 30 days
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include circulating nurse duties: sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, patient positioning, intraoperative documentation, and OR equipment setup and operation
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Candidates residing between 60 and 80 miles of the facility may be considered at a reduced travel pay rate
- Ceil blue scrubs are provided by the facility
- Badging in and out at the facility is required
