Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiac Telemetry position at a large academic medical center in Maryland, requiring at least 2 prior travel assignments and strong IMC experience.
Details
- Progressive Care/Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU) in a large academic teaching hospital setting
- Intermediate Care (IMC) and Telemetry unit serving adult medical cardiac patients across multiple levels of care including acute inpatient, telemetry, and intermediate care
- IMC patient ratio is 1:3 around the clock; Telemetry ratios are 1:4 during AM and 1:5 during PM
- Patients require continuous vital sign monitoring and some advanced monitoring modalities
- Clinical procedures include ventilator management, tracheostomy care, arterial line (A-line) management, and titrating drips including Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and Heparin
- Provider-managed vasopressors and inotropes are used on the unit
- Rotating 12-hour shifts covering both day (7A) and night (7P) schedules
- EMR: Epic (preferred, not required)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license for Maryland (MD license or valid Compact RN license required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- IMC or step-down/intermediate care experience required
- Dysrhythmia recognition and management experience required
- Experience with high-acuity patients required
- At least 2 prior travel nursing assignments required
- Experience at a facility with 500+ beds required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Critical Care certification preferred
- Trauma course completion preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Active licensure documentation and 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Epic EMR experience is preferred but not required
