Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN Circulator for a 13-week travel contract in Carlsbad, NM, requiring 2+ years of OR experience and proficiency with DaVinci robotics and multi-specialty surgical cases.
Details
- Work setting is a 99-bed hospital with 6 operating rooms performing approximately 250 procedures per month
- Patient ratio is 1:1
- Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
- On-call is required: minimum one weekday per week, plus weekend rotation; weekday on-call runs 3:30 PM–7:00 AM, and weekend on-call runs 7:00 AM–7:00 AM (Saturday and Sunday)
- Surgical specialties include general, orthopedic, OB/GYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, trauma, and robotic-assisted (DaVinci) procedures
- Both adult and pediatric patient populations
Requirements
- Active NM RN license or valid Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start date)
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience required
- Experience in general, orthopedic, OB/GYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, and trauma surgery required
- DaVinci robotics experience required
- Adult and pediatric surgical experience required
- Valid driver's license required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
Additional Information
- The OR RN Circulator is responsible for critical thinking, planning, and coordination of patient care in the operating room alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs
- Duties include ensuring supplies are available, maintaining case timeliness, communicating with patient families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing in, and assisting during surgical procedures
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local travelers are not accepted
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible
- RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
- This position is auto-offer; no interviews are conducted
