Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at a Level 3 trauma facility in Athens, TN, requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of hospital experience.

Details

• Medical/Surgical unit within an acute care hospital setting serving adult and geriatric patients (no pediatrics)
• Common diagnoses include pneumonia, CVA, chest pain, post-surgical care, electrolyte imbalances, and DVT
• Patient ratio of 6:1 with a current max census of 18 patients (expanding to 24)
• Equipment includes bladder scanners and glucometers
• EMR: Medhost
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No call or on-call requirements
• No floating required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license valid in Tennessee (TN state license or compact license required)
• Current AHA BLS certification required prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Level 3 trauma facility with campuses in Athens and Etowah, TN
• Critical care thinking skills are preferred
• All clinical staff working in Tennessee must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to the assignment start date
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• Any color scrubs are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
• Orientation is held bi-weekly on Mondays
