Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Wilson, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a 294-bed, Joint Commission Accredited hospital's Emergency Department in Wilson, NC
• 26-bed Emergency Department serving a mixed patient population (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
• Common diagnoses and treatments include respiratory distress, overdose, CHF, dialysis, and hypertension (HTN)
• Patient ratio is 1:4-5, flexible depending on acuity
• Equipment includes GE monitors and standard ED equipment
• EMR is Meditech; experience preferred
• Day shift: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to like assignments required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in NC or a compact state currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate

Additional Information

• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; scrubs branded with another facility name are not permitted
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• Wilson, NC is located approximately 45 miles east of Raleigh, 1 hour from Duke, NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and East Carolina University, and about 2 hours from the NC coast
