Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with travel experience and Draeger vent expertise for a 26-week night shift contract at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Bridgeport, CT.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
- Respiratory therapy unit with rotation through all hospital areas, including NICU and Pediatric units as needed based on census and staffing
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend and holidays required
- NICU experience preferred but not required
- Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
- Free parking available on-site
- Float between main hospital and Milford campus as needed
Requirements
- Current RRT or CRT credential required, plus applicable state license (license required if applicable)
- BLS required
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Level II Trauma Center experience required
- Draeger ventilator experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
Additional Information
- NICU experience, including with neonatal oscillating vents and high-frequency jet vents, is preferred
- Travelers may be asked to orient students or new hires as needed
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities if needed
- Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccination is required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO must be finalized prior to offer acceptance, as additional requests will not be approved after that point
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
