Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with ED and critical care experience for a day shift travel assignment at a Duke LifePoint hospital in Hickory, NC.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Therapy department of a 355-bed Duke LifePoint hospital on the 1st floor
- Hospital specialties include Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center, Orthopedics, General & Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and a Level 3 NICU
- Patient population includes all age groups (adult, pediatric, and neonatal)
- Equipment used includes ventilators (Servo-I, Drager Evita 500, PB 840, Hamilton T-1 & MR-1), BiPAP (V-60), ResMed CPAPs, high flow oxygen (Optiflow), MetaNebs, Vest, and Siemens RapidPoint 500e Blood Gas analyzers
- EMR: Cerner
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Alternating weekend shifts required
- On-call may be required
- No floating required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RRT license; NC RRT license (registry) required — license required if applicable
- Minimum Associate Degree in Respiratory Care
- Minimum 2 years of experience, with ED and critical care experience strongly preferred
- Nursery experience preferred
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
- Social Security number required for consideration
- Date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide a full range of respiratory therapy services across multiple service lines including critical care, ED, and neonatal settings
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment while also functioning independently
- Scrub color: gray or black preferred; any solid color acceptable — no prints
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Candidates who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates who are currently employed full time elsewhere are not eligible
