Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Flex Pool Night position in Hawaii, floating across medical and surgical units with a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active HI RN license required by start date.
Details
- Flex Pool RN role floating between multiple medical and surgical units, including a Medical Unit (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds, floated to on rare occasions)
- Adult Med/Surg and Step-Down patient population
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: Medical Unit 1:6 (days/evenings) and 1:8 (nights); Laulima Unit 1:6; Cardiovascular Unit 1:4 (ratios may vary due to unexpected leave)
- EMR: Meditech; additional equipment includes Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
- 12-hour night shifts (1845–0715), scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active HI RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply for it upon acceptance of offer
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
- Med/Surg and/or Step-Down experience required
- Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu of documentation
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care across various medical and surgical units as part of a Flex Pool, with orientation time provided for each unit
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the assignment start date; candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday Employee Health appointment
- Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but 2–10 years of experience is required
