Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a Women's Health and OB Services unit in Kenosha, WI, requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and NRP certification.

Details

• Works in a Women's Health and OB Services unit with 8 labor beds, 1 antepartum bed, 3 triage bays, and 12 post-partum beds
• Patient population includes laboring patients, cesarean sections, OB triage, antepartum, mother/baby, and high-risk OB (more complex high-risk cases are transferred to a sister facility)
• Staffed according to AWHONN guidelines with L&D ratios of 1:1 and post-partum ratios of 1:1–3
• 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required once per month
• Holiday coverage required for 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday
• Floating is limited to areas within the LDRP unit only
• No mandatory call requirements; on-call is voluntary
• Epic (preferred) used for charting; Alaris and Pyxis also in use

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and FHM
• Minimum 1 year of L&D core work experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• Ability to interpret fetal heart tracings and manage labor patients through delivery
• Ability to circulate for cesarean sections, assist with newborn transitioning, and care for post-partum couplets
• Must be flexible in caring for the full scope of obstetric patients
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Candidate middle name or initial required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
• Charge nurse is typically available and tries to remain open without an assignment
• 24/7 obstetrician and anesthesia on-call support available on the unit
• Phlebotomy team support available; fetal monitoring is managed by nursing staff (no tele tech)
• Orientation is 1–3 shifts based on individual comfort level
• Up to 7 days of time off may be approved during the contract
• Scrubs are facility-provided
• Free parking available on site
