Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN requiring active RN/compact license, Level I trauma ICU experience, and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Pediatric Stepdown ICU setting
- 13-week assignment on a Days shift schedule
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
- Cares for pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
Requirements
- Active RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Level I trauma center ICU experience required
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Current PALS certification (American Heart Association)
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric ICU patients
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, noting all changes in physician orders
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed based on patient status
- Administers prescribed medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
- Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Educates patients and families on hospital procedures
- Coordinates referrals for patient care needs and delegates tasks to support staff
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
- Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements must be completed promptly
- Returning workers may extend a contract once for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
