Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a stepdown unit position requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and Level I trauma background, working days in an Oklahoma City hospital.

Details

  • Position is based in a pediatric stepdown unit within a hospital setting
  • Day shift schedule, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
  • 13-week contract assignment

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • ICU experience required
  • Level I trauma experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Proficiency in organizing, planning, and evaluating nursing care
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, documenting responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, and monitoring physiological data
  • Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
  • Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Engages with patients and families regarding care plans and hospital procedures throughout the stay and at discharge
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
  • Workers who have previously completed an assignment at this health system must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply again
