Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN requiring active RN/compact license, Level I trauma ICU experience, and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Pediatric Stepdown ICU setting
• 13-week assignment on a Days shift schedule
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
• Cares for pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex

Requirements

• Active RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Level I trauma center ICU experience required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current PALS certification (American Heart Association)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric ICU patients
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, noting all changes in physician orders
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed based on patient status
• Administers prescribed medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Educates patients and families on hospital procedures
• Coordinates referrals for patient care needs and delegates tasks to support staff
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements must be completed promptly
• Returning workers may extend a contract once for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
