Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN with at least 1 year of Level I trauma ICU experience for a hospital-based night shift assignment.
Details
- Work in the OCH Stepdown unit of a hospital setting
- Provide nursing care to pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience required
- Level I trauma experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Full DOB and full SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and note all changes in physician orders
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing and intervening as needed
- Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures and make appropriate referrals for care needs
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Workers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
- Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates will not be pushed once booked
