Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift position in a hospital stepdown unit, requiring at least one year of ICU experience and Level I trauma experience.
Details
- Work setting is a hospital pediatric stepdown/ICU unit
- Night shift schedule, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
- 13-week contract assignment
- Level I trauma center experience required for this role
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- ICU experience required
- Level I trauma experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficiency in nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, and managing IV infusions and blood products
- Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Engages with patients and families to communicate care plans and hospital procedures throughout the stay and at discharge
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Previous travelers or workers at this health system must have a 6-month separation period after 26 weeks of total service before being eligible for a new contract
- Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly after acceptance; this facility does not negotiate start dates and will not accommodate non-compliant travelers
