Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Night Shift position requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and a WV or Compact license.

Details

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Oncology patient population experience preferred but not required
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling in place
• 13-week contract with possible extension
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required through AHA
• ONS/ONCC Chemo/Bio certification and OCN certification preferred
• IV start and IV therapy/infusion skills required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Provide medical surgical nursing care with a focus on oncology patients when applicable
• Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
• Facility expects minimal call-offs, with a maximum tolerance of 2-3 per contract
• Candidates must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility, with 75-100 miles considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last date of permanent employment before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
• Orientation held every other Monday
• Non-billable EMR training modules required prior to start date, averaging 8 hours to complete
• First-time travelers are not required to have travel experience for consideration
