Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in Illinois, requiring EKG/rhythm strip interpretation competency and night shift availability.

Details

• Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Patient population includes those requiring telemetry monitoring and chronic ventilator management
• EKG monitoring and rhythm strip interpretation are core components of the role
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Charting performed in Epic

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Competency in EKG rhythm strip interpretation required — candidates must pass an EKG strip test at orientation
• Chronic ventilator experience required
• Experience initiating and maintaining cardiac drips (e.g., dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem) preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing acute changes in patient condition in a fast-paced telemetry environment
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Maximum of 7 days RTO for the duration of the contract — all time-off requests must be submitted upfront
