Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Intermediate Care Unit position in Marquette, MI, requiring at least 2 years of PCU experience and AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Details
- Night shift position, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 225-bed specialty care hospital serving a broad range of specialties including Heart & Vascular, Cancer Care, Brain & Spine, Behavioral Health, Bariatric Medicine, Women's Health, and Pediatrics
- PCU/Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with a 24-bed unit
- Patient ratio of 1:3 for IMCU patients
- Patient population includes post-open heart, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical ICU, post-stroke with lytics, post-craniotomy, and septic shock cases
- Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Prisma Flex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, bolt monitoring, ventilators, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
- EMR: Cerner
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required on a rotation shared with other travel nurses
- On-call may be required if census drops on the unit — no scheduled call otherwise
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (AND) required
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Active nursing license verification (Nursys) required at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Specialty context includes a Level 2 ICU with Open Heart program, Cath Lab, Neuro Surgery, Level II Trauma Center, and CRRT programs
- Preferred experience includes CVICU, Neuro ICU, organ donation, and pediatric DKA
- Scrub colors: Galaxy, Royal, or Navy Blue — hoodies and open-toed shoes are not permitted
- Orientation is held on a bi-weekly schedule
- Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates may not be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
- Local candidates are accepted if they reside more than 60 miles from the facility
