Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adult Emergency Department position in Boston requiring a MA RN license, Level I/II ED experience, and telemetry competency.

Details

  • Work setting is a high-volume adult ED with up to 120 treatment areas serving 350–440 patients per day
  • Patient ratio is 1:4–5 depending on acuity
  • Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a, 36 hours per week
  • Two weekends required per 4-week schedule period
  • Every other holiday required
  • Floating may be required to Psych ED and Pedi ED (caring for patients age 15+ in Pedi unless prior pediatric experience is held)
  • Travelers will not be assigned to trauma rooms during this assignment
  • Epic EMR experience is preferred
  • Telemetry monitoring is a core component of the role; must be able to independently read and interpret rhythm strips and identify heart blocks

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required
  • Required certifications (must be active/unexpired): BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS
  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent Level I or II ED experience, OR 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience
  • Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, including heart block identification
  • Must pass a Telemetry Test on Day 1 with a score of 85% or higher
  • Two professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor), and must include a performance evaluation; one reference must be from within the last 12 months, and the other within the last 3 years
  • References cannot be provided by another traveler
  • Valid, non-expired driver's license required
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will be placed at a local pay rate

Additional Information

  • Critical care experience is preferred
  • Previous travel assignment experience is preferred
  • Candidates must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (Test A or B) prior to consideration; the test may only be taken twice
  • This is a Level I Trauma Center environment, though travelers are not assigned to trauma rooms
