Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position in Boston, MA, requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of recent Level I/II ED experience and an active MA RN license.
Details
- High-volume Adult ED setting with up to 120 treatment areas serving 350–440 patients per day
- Day/Evening rotation with 12-hour shifts (7a–7:30p, 11a–11:30p, 3p–3:30a)
- 36 hours per week
- 2 weekends required per 4-week schedule period
- Every other holiday required
- Patient ratio of 1:4–5 depending on acuity
- Floating required to Psych ED and Pedi ED (caring for patients age 15+ in Pedi unless prior pediatric experience exists)
- Travelers will not be assigned to trauma rooms during this assignment
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS (all must be active/unexpired)
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent Level I or II ED experience, OR 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips, identify heart blocks, and pass an on-site Telemetry Test with a score of 85% or higher on Day 1
- Valid, non-expired driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor), with one reference including a performance evaluation dated within the last 12 months and the other within the last 3 years; references from fellow travelers are not accepted
Additional Information
- Candidates must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (A or B) prior to placement; the test may only be taken twice
- Previous travel assignments and critical care experience are preferred
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
- 13-week contract
