Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adult Emergency Department position in Boston, MA, requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of recent Level I/II ED experience and an active MA RN license.
Details
- Night shift position, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
- Two weekends required per 4-week schedule period
- Every other holiday required
- Patient ratio of 1:4–5 depending on acuity
- Very high-volume ED with up to 120 treatment areas, serving 350–440 patients per day
- Floating required to Psych ED and Pedi ED; pedi float covers patients age 15+ unless candidate has prior pedi experience
- Travelers will not be placed in trauma rooms during this assignment
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Telemetry monitoring required; must independently read and interpret rhythm strips and identify heart blocks
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Required certifications (must be active/unexpired): BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent Level I or II ED experience, or 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks
- Must pass a telemetry test (85% or higher) on Day 1 of assignment
- Two professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor), one must include a performance evaluation within the last 12 months, and the other within the last 3 years
- A valid, unexpired driver's license is required for consideration
Additional Information
- Critical care experience is preferred
- Previous travel assignment experience is preferred
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
- A Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia assessment (Test A or B) must be completed as part of the consideration process; the test may only be taken twice
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but prior travel experience is preferred
