Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU/PCU (Cardiovascular ICU/Progressive Care Unit) position on nights, requiring at least 2 years of PCU/progressive care experience and active ACLS and NIH certifications.
Details
- Work is performed in a 27-bed Cardiac Care Unit (2S CCU) on the second floor of an inpatient hospital setting
- Cares for cardiac, post-op cardiac, and medical ICU overflow patients
- Acuity-adaptable unit with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity
- Equipment used includes EKOS, balloon pump, Impella, IV pumps, transvenous pacers, cardiac monitors, CRRT, and ventilators
- EMR system is Epic
- Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (1800–0630)
- Every other weekend required
- Call is based on low census only; no additional on-call shifts required
- Floating to the ICU or other inpatient units required as needed
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license required
- Current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/progressive care experience required
- Strong cardiac rhythm knowledge required; candidates must pass a facility EKG test with a score of 90% or higher
- US Social Security Number (SSN) required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Previous cardiac/critical care ICU experience is preferred
- Candidates must pass an EKG assessment; two attempts are allowed, and if not passed, candidates may reapply to Franciscan positions after 30 days
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; sweatshirts and plain t-shirts are not permitted, and visible facial piercings must be removed or covered with flesh-colored retainers
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply at a reduced bill rate
- 13-week contract
