Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a specialized Medical-Surgical unit focused on Cystic Fibrosis, Lung Transplant, and Medicine patients at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Details

• Medical-Surgical unit within a large, short-term acute care hospital (1,266 staffed beds)
• Unit specializes in Cystic Fibrosis, lung transplant, and medicine patients, with overflow of standard medical patients
• Care model is primary care nursing
• Patient ratios of 1:3–5
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• Epic EMR used; experience required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active MO RN license required at time of consideration; compact license accepted if MO is included
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Standard travelers may remain for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Parking passes are available for purchase at various campus locations; night shift workers park at no charge in employee parking
