Description

American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist with Level 1 trauma acute care experience for a 13-week inpatient acute care hospital assignment.

Details

• Inpatient acute care setting at a large, short-term acute care teaching hospital with Level 1 trauma designation and 1,259 staffed beds
• Therapy services provided across a wide range of patient care areas, including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology
• Primary role is inpatient acute care; may be utilized in any therapy service line as needed
• Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00–15:30 (start time flexible up to 8:00)
• One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required per 4-week period, with a compensatory day off during that week
• No on-call requirements
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Black or grey scrubs required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Level 1 trauma acute care PT experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid MO state PT license required; candidates with a pending IL license may be considered (please note pending status during consideration)
• License required if applicable
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with a variety of patient populations
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Experience with acute care patient assessment, documentation, patient/family education, and safety and injury prevention

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment across multiple acute care service lines, documentation, patient and family education, and safety and injury prevention
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travelers may remain for up to 12 months, after which a 6-month break in service is required before returning
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility in this health system as a traveler

• Parking passes are available for purchase on a monthly basis; parking information will be provided during orientation
