Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical (Ortho/Trauma) position at an academic medical center in St. Louis, MO, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a valid MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the 5S Medical/Surgical unit of a 356-bed non-profit academic medical center providing tertiary care for the east Missouri region
- Ortho, trauma, and general med/surg patient population with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Floating required to med/surg and all hospital care areas within scope, including the ED and ICU to care for admitted med/surg holds
- Night shift schedule (7p–7:30a), 3x12-hour shifts per week; 36 or 48 hours per week are both acceptable
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR experience strongly preferred but not required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license; pending license accepted
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS and CPI certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Ortho, trauma, or med/surg nursing experience required
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include coordinating resources, performing serial assessments, identifying changes and trends, determining care priorities, communicating with the trauma team, and thorough documentation of assessments, interventions, reassessments, and significant events
- The facility is an academic medical center affiliated with the Saint Louis University School of Medicine and part of the SSM Health System
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Block scheduling will be considered at the manager's discretion
- RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application; RTO requests after confirmation are subject to manager approval
- Candidates must reside more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible
