Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring Level I Trauma Center experience and a Massachusetts RN license.
Details
- Level I Trauma Center emergency department setting
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Shift start time may occasionally flex up to four hours earlier or later based on urgent staffing needs
- 26-week assignment length, though facility is open to 13-26 weeks
- 36 or 48 hours per week options available
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
- Care for Psych/Behavioral Health ED patients
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license in hand required
- Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of RN experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Must be able to read telemetry
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
- Skills required: respiratory care, care of ventilated patients, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage
- Must pass a telemetry exam (80% passing score, 1 attempt) and a medication exam at orientation
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care within a Level I Trauma Center
- Multiple study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews to help prepare for required exams
- Failure to pass the telemetry or medication exam at orientation will result in immediate contract cancellation
- Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
- One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) must be included in RTO
- Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO and 26-week contract commitments
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
- Candidates must have a 12-month separation from the health system if previously employed there
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
