- Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses spanning all solid tumor cancer subtypes, including breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, esophageal cancers, and patients receiving antineoplastic chemotherapy
- Staffing ratio goal of 1:4, with a maximum of 1:5 depending on unit needs
- Day (3x12, 7:00–19:30) and night (3x12, 19:00–7:30) shifts available
- Weekend scheduling is variable based on unit needs
- Schedule is self-requested in advance and balanced by the unit before the final schedule is posted — no set or blocked scheduling
- Documents telemetry and clinical care using Epic
- Floating required to other Med/Surg Oncology units
- 16-week contract
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- ONS Chemo certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills required
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as a second reference — co-worker references are not accepted
Additional Information
- Unit has a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
- Orientation consists of Mon–Fri day shifts during the first week, followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor in the second week
- All candidates must complete Ohio state fingerprinting as soon as possible after booking — candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location; candidates at extreme distances will receive a fingerprinting packet by mail to be completed urgently upon receipt
- Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate — no radius restriction
- Former employees of this facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation period
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with your profile and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract period

Pros
Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.

- Short Term Acute Care
- 306 beds

Pros
Rachel is an awesome recruiter. She is very responsive, very active, checks in on me regularly, and a great advocate. She is also genuinely a joy to speak to as well. I have been a travel nurse for about 4 years now and she has been the best and my favorite recruiter. I have no complaints and will definitely continue to work with her in the future.
