Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with Epic proficiency and strong vascular and orthopedic surgery skills for a travel assignment in Glens Falls, NY.

Details

• Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 8 hours per day
• No weekend requirements
• On-call commitment of approximately 1 call per month
• 13-week contract
• Large OR environment with 14 operating rooms, including coverage in Labor & Delivery for C-sections
• Primarily a circulating role; scrub experience is a valued additional skill
• All surgical specialties covered except cardiac and ophthalmology, averaging 50 procedures per day
• Patient population spans pediatric through adult
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Float experience required across vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotic, urology, and ENT

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required (must be uploaded with profile; facility will not pend)
• Minimum 2 years of current OR experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Scrub and circulate experience required
• Float experience across vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotic, urology, and ENT required
• Strong vascular and orthopedic surgery skills required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must have a personal vehicle
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years required for consideration
• A current skills checklist pertinent to the OR position (within the past year) is required for consideration
• A negative 14-panel drug screen is required
• NY Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include perioperative patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, pre- and post-operative patient education, and coordinating patient care throughout the surgical care continuum
• Completed de-escalation training from an approved provider is required for onboarding — accepted programs include Welle (Verbal De-escalation bundle), CPI, or PMCS
• COVID vaccination is encouraged but not required
• All requested time off must be submitted and verified at the time of profile upload; RTO requests submitted after upload will not be approved (maximum 5 days of RTO allowed)
• Candidates with a permanent address in the following New York counties are not eligible for this travel assignment: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position; prior travel experience is required
