Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center and an active IL RN license.

Details

  • Hospital-based ICU setting with floating responsibilities to the Step-Down ICU unit
  • Patient population includes cardiovascular, critical care, coronary, and neurological ICU cases
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license currently in hand
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, specifically at a Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
  • Administers medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and applicable state laws
  • Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
  • Applies critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
  • Must be willing to float down to the Step-Down ICU as needed
