Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Intermediate Care (IMC) position at a large academic medical center in Maryland, requiring at least 2 prior travel assignments and strong IMC/high-acuity experience.

Details

  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Progressive Care/Intermediate Care Unit (PCCU) within a large academic teaching hospital
  • Medical cardiac patient population with multiple levels of care: acute inpatient, telemetry, and intermediate care
  • Continuous vital sign monitoring and some advanced hemodynamic monitoring
  • IMC nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 around the clock
  • Telemetry nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 during AM and 1:5 during PM
  • Clinical duties include care of patients on vents and tracheostomies, A-lines, and titrating drips (Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and Heparin), as well as experience with provider-managed pressors and inotropes
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active MD or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • At least 2 prior travel assignments required
  • IMC experience required
  • Dysrhythmia management experience required
  • Experience with high-acuity patients required
  • Experience at a facility with 500+ beds required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS preferred
  • Critical Care Certification preferred
  • Trauma course completion preferred
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
