Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Intermediate Care (IMC) position at a large academic medical center in Maryland, requiring at least 2 prior travel assignments and strong IMC/high-acuity experience.
Details
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Progressive Care/Intermediate Care Unit (PCCU) within a large academic teaching hospital
- Medical cardiac patient population with multiple levels of care: acute inpatient, telemetry, and intermediate care
- Continuous vital sign monitoring and some advanced hemodynamic monitoring
- IMC nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 around the clock
- Telemetry nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 during AM and 1:5 during PM
- Clinical duties include care of patients on vents and tracheostomies, A-lines, and titrating drips (Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and Heparin), as well as experience with provider-managed pressors and inotropes
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- At least 2 prior travel assignments required
- IMC experience required
- Dysrhythmia management experience required
- Experience with high-acuity patients required
- Experience at a facility with 500+ beds required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS preferred
- Critical Care Certification preferred
- Trauma course completion preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
