Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU position at an academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Level 1 Trauma, academic medical center hospital setting
- Neonatal ICU (Intensive Care Nursery) with an average daily census of 71
- Patient population includes 23-week through term infants, including those with surgical needs such as NEC and CDH
- Uses Epic EMR
- 12-hour day shifts starting at 0630, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Floating may be required to General Pediatrics, PICU, Adolescent Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hem/Onc
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Proficiency in basic ventilator management, central line management, and pre/post-surgical management required
- Experience with tracheostomy management, G-tube management, and gavage feeding required
- Blood transfusion and infant venous stick skills required
- Basic breastfeeding and bottle feeding skills required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Supported by nursing assistants (1:20 ratio) and 2 Charge RNs each shift
- Orientation includes NEO training plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Free parking available on site
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
