Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU position at an academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Level 1 Trauma, academic medical center hospital setting
• Neonatal ICU (Intensive Care Nursery) with an average daily census of 71
• Patient population includes 23-week through term infants, including those with surgical needs such as NEC and CDH
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour day shifts starting at 0630, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Floating may be required to General Pediatrics, PICU, Adolescent Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hem/Onc
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Proficiency in basic ventilator management, central line management, and pre/post-surgical management required
• Experience with tracheostomy management, G-tube management, and gavage feeding required
• Blood transfusion and infant venous stick skills required
• Basic breastfeeding and bottle feeding skills required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Supported by nursing assistants (1:20 ratio) and 2 Charge RNs each shift
• Orientation includes NEO training plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
• Royal blue scrubs required
